At the 2008 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards gala dinner at the Great Hall of Parliament House Canberra last night, SAGE Automation was announced as the winner of the "Presidents Award" for making a significant contribution to the profession and community towards the realisation of Engineers Australia's strategic goals.
SAGE Automation was recognised for their graduate program and their SAGE Didactic training facility.
In the service industry you are only as good as the people who work for you. We always try to employ on character - people who are loyal, honest, committed but most important of all, passionate. These people come from other companies, industries, locally, interstate and from overseas, plus we endeavor to assist the next generation of staff by employing and training apprentice Electricians and Graduate Engineers (SAGE currently employs 13 apprentices & 12 Graduate engineers)
The highly competitive automation industry requires SAGE staff to remain at the forefront of evolving global technologies.
This has all lead to SAGE making the decision to set-up its own state of the art multimillion dollar training facility. The aim is to groom the next generation of technical specialists by providing real-life, real-time, practical education and training utilizing the latest technology.
As part of our training facility, in association with our education partners, the Targeted Technology Introduction Module (TTIM) has been developed. The TTIM system provides safe and challenging platforms (Conveyor, Robotic, Vision, Liquid & Mini factory) for users to gain hands-on experience and learn important problem solving techniques.
SAGE has also gone beyond, by providing the TTIM program in the community to both public and private schools. Offering them a TTIM for their curriculums and professional development courses for teachers.
SAGE Automation is meeting this Challenge of matching the needs and aspirations of young people with those of business which is a major challenge for any company.
